DIRENZO DRZ 06 WANDERING STAR

Sergio Godoy Di Renzo, the man behind Direnzo, is back! This time with the DRZ 06 Wandering Star, a manual wound beauty with a “mystery” small seconds. The beautiful Direnzo signature has evolved to be even better, and bolder, reffering to nostalgic automotive principles.

Direnzo has been a favourite of mine for many years, and for every new release, Sergio take things to the next level! The DRZ 06 Wandering Star comes in three different colors; blue, black and green, all with BGW9 Super-LumiNova.

Mark your calendars, as the pre-sale campaign launces on February 10th, 2024, at 15:00 CET.

96ZERO SABOTAGE

96Zero is a British brand run by Christian Jeffery, focusing on military-inspired watches. Both name and style refers to Christians’ military background, where 96Zero are the last digits in his army number.

The Sabotage is quite a unique timepiece, inspired by the British Type 3 Mk. II spy radio. The dial is painted in Black 3.0 paint, which absorbs up to 98% of visible light. Combined with the brushed, black case and bracelet, the Sabotage is a proper salute to the secrecy of espionage.

DIRENZO DRZ 02R AEROLITE

The DRZ 02R Aerolite is the newest release from Direnzo, a reduced version of the classic DRZ 02. I have been a massive fan of Direnzo for several years, and the DZR 02R Aerolite is solid proof (one of many) of Sergio’s exceptional talent.

The seven versions of the 02R are all sold out, but rumors say there will be a new release in the future. If you did not manage to order this time, make sure to be ready if a second release appears!

Archimede 1950-4

1950-4 is the latest release in Archimede’s 1950 series. The brushed and polished case is manufactured by ICKLER in Pforzheim. The 1950-4 has a hand-wound Sellita SW261-1M movement (small seconds), a domed sapphire crystal, an onion crown, and a screw-down exhibition case back.

OLLECH & WAJS 8001 (PROTOTYPE)

This express shoot occurred at MIR’s offices, a five-hour drive away. A temporary «studio» was set up between vintage Alfa Romeos, computers, and a drum kit, where details of the rugged case and bracelet were in focus.

The 8001 is the latest release from Ollech & Wajs and is a nod to the chronograph, ref 8000, from 1973. The 8001 is not a chronograph but shares the brutalist tonneau-shaped case, the solid three-link bracelet, and the brown fumé dial of its 1973 ancestor.

Second Hour Watches Sattelberg

40mm x 47mm x 10mm is why the Sattelberg by Second Hour Watches sits like a glove on the wrist, both with the artisan canvas strap, with leather backing, and the stretchy two-piece nato.

The Sattelberg is a field watch with some great specs underneath the beautiful exterior. The 1200 Vickers Surface Hardening Treatment will keep the scratches away. To put this into context, the Sattelberg, by numbers, can take a tougher beating than Damasko’s ice-hardened steel.

CELEGIN HELGONET 38 - THE CAMPAIGN

Helgonet 38 is the latest project from Swedish Celegin Precision Timing – A dressy automatic watch celebrating the classic 1960s sports car Volvo P1800.

«Celegin Helgonet 38 is different in other respects too. It’s our first watch to be released in the convenient case size of 38mm (38.5mm across the bezel). It’s a versatile size for most wrists and makes a slimmer watch that can easily slide within the cuffs.

The Celegin Helgonet 38 is powered by the Swiss automatic mechanical Sellita SW220 movement and is waterproof to 10 ATM (100m). This means that you won’t need to worry should you find the need to take a swim with the watch. As for our other watches, a flat sapphire crystal with internal AR-coating makes this a top spec’d watch.»

Fortis Stratoliner s-41

This is supposed to be a place where I neutrally present my latest photoshoots. Keeping it neutral with Fortis, especially their new Stratoliner series, is impossible. It just is too cool.

Instead, I will hook you up with a link to Fratello, where my friend Dave has taken a closer look at the Stratoliners.

Gavox longitude

Gavox Longitude is a traveler's companion. Powered by a custom version of the Miyota 9075, the Longitude is a true GMT watch, ready to handle different timezones easily.

I had the pleasure of getting my hands on four prototypes, the Black Diamond, Onyx, Sapphire, and Turquoise, which indicate the colors on the different dials.

Combined with being a true GMT watch, the Longitude has some standout features, where the structured dial and integrated bracelet immediately catch your eye.

Celegin helgonet 38

With Celegin Helgonet 38, Celegin Precision Timing has taken a different route, turning their heads from military and aviation towards one of the prettiest cars throughout history – The Volvo P1800.

«With a love for racing inspired watches, the Celegin Helgonet 38 takes a step away from the military and aviation themed watches we’ve made so far. Helgonet is Swedish for “the saint” which was the name of a British fictional spy TV-series from the 1960’s. In the series, Roger Moore, aka Simon Templar, famously drove a white Volvo P1800 making it a legend. Since our watch is inspired by the small sports car, we believe that the name is a delicate gesture towards the spirit of those times.»
